Margaret Overland

Margaret worked for the Government of Alberta and gained experience in the areas of career development, labour force development and planning, labour market information and immigration.  She provided leadership in developing a number of initiatives including a long term labour force development strategy, skills investment strategy, and framework for the assessment and recognition of foreign qualifications, and of services for clients including immigrants and temporary foreign workers as well as Albertans.

Over the years, Margaret has worked directly with individuals providing career development support and in more recent years moved to managing policy development and projects, and relationships and partnerships across governments and with stakeholders including industry, professional associations, training providers and immigrant agencies.  An important aspect of her work was providing information and facilitating consultations related to ongoing issues related to labour force development in the province of Alberta.
