Dale Gullekson (B.Ed. CCDP)

Dale Gullekson has been a teacher and a coach for 30 years, a career educator for 25 years and recently a Certified Career Development Professional. He is the Career Development and Off-Campus Education Consultant at Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Dale has developed innovative resources, presented and published articles on career education and Off-Campus Education throughout Canada. Dale was a recipient of an Alberta Career Development Award of Excellence, an Alberta Teachers Association School Community Relations Award for his work and is a previous finalist in the Alberta Excellence in Teaching awards.

Dale has written and implemented Career and Technology Studies (CTS) curriculum and two Teacher Resource Manuals for Alberta Education, plus a number of career education resources for EIPS. The teacher resources are recognized as authorized curriculum resources by Alberta Education and marketed by EIPS. Dale’s work on portfolio development, work experience, job shadowing and other resources supporting the Career and Life Management (CALM) curriculum is well known provincially.

Dale actively collaborated with Alberta Education and Alberta Employment Immigration and Industry on the “Individual Learner Pathways” study which has become Alberta’s Career Development Strategy. This cross ministry initiative is supported by Alberta Education (ABE), Alberta Employment Immigration and Industry (AEII) Advanced Education and Technology (AET).

Dale is currently working on a major partnership with Elk Island Public schools within Alberta’s Industrial Heartland to build a regional learning center for trades and technology training (Heartland Skills Centre).
